Subhash Thakur Elected as President in Mandi Press Club Elections.

The Mandi Press Club elections were held on today at the Press Club Building in Ramnagar, where Subhash Thakur emerged victorious as the President. In addition to this, Hansraj Saini was elected as General Secretary. Monika Thakur was elected as the Vice President, and Bhagat Singh Guleria was chosen as the Treasurer.
Retired administrative officer B.R. Kaundal served as the Election Officer, ensuring that the elections were conducted smoothly and peacefully. He was assisted by Rajkamal in his duties.
The election for the President’s position saw three candidates initially in the fray, with Vinod Rana later withdrawing his nomination. The contest then turned into a direct face-off between Subhash Thakur and Munish Sood. Subhash Thakur won the election with 26 votes, while Munish Sood received 20 votes, giving Thakur a victory margin of 6 votes.
For the post of General Secretary, Bhagat Singh Guleria withdrew his nomination, leaving Hansraj Saini and Rooplal Kaundal to battle it out. In this closely contested race, Hansraj Saini emerged victorious with 29 votes, while Rooplal Kaundal secured 17 votes. Saini won by a margin of 12 votes.
The election for the Vice President position was fought between Monika Thakur and Rajneesh Kumar Himalayan. Monika Thakur won decisively, securing 26 votes against Rajneesh’s 20 votes.
In the Treasurer’s race, Bhagat Singh Guleria and Vinod Rana competed in a tight contest. Guleria won by a narrow margin of 2 votes, securing the position of Treasurer.
Election Officer B.R. Kaundal expressed confidence in the newly elected body, stating that the new committee not only brings hope to journalists but also to society at large. He expressed optimism that the upcoming three years of the Mandi Press Club would be marked by significant progress and success.
With these results, the newly elected office bearers of the Mandi Press Club are set to take on their roles, and it is expected that they will work towards strengthening the club and enhancing its role in the community.
