On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tributes to Bhagwan Mahavir, highlighting the enduring relevance of his teachings rooted in non-violence, truth, and compassion. Through a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared his deep respect for the spiritual leader and acknowledged the transformative impact of his ideals on global consciousness and his own life.

In his message, Prime Minister Modi said:
“We all bow to Bhagwan Mahavir, who always emphasised on non-violence, truth and compassion. His ideals give strength to countless people all around the world.”
He praised the Jain community for preserving and promoting Bhagwan Mahavir’s teachings across generations, saying their contributions to social welfare and excellence in diverse fields have been truly commendable.

The Prime Minister also reflected on the government’s recent cultural initiative, noting:
“Last year, we conferred the status of Classical Language on Prakrit, a decision which received a lot of appreciation.”
Prakrit, widely used in Jain scriptures, holds immense historical and linguistic value, and its recognition as a Classical Language was celebrated as a tribute to India’s rich spiritual and philosophical heritage.

Later in the day, responding to a post by Modi Archive, which showcased his longstanding connection with Bhagwan Mahavir’s values, the Prime Minister wrote:
“The ideals of Bhagwan Mahavir have greatly inspired countless people, including me. His thoughts show the way to build a peaceful and compassionate planet.”

The Prime Minister’s message on Mahavir Jayanti resonates with a call for universal peace, empathy, and inner transformation, drawing from the timeless wisdom of one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders.
