Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over Rs. 58,000 crore in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to transforming the state into a hub of progress and innovation.

Speaking from Amaravati, the Prime Minister declared that the projects launched were not just about infrastructure, but about building the dreams and aspirations of a new Andhra Pradesh. “Amaravati is a land where tradition and progress go hand in hand, reflecting the peaceful legacy of its Buddhist roots and the dynamism of a developed India,” he said.

The Prime Minister offered prayers to Bhagwan Veerabhadra, Bhagwan Amaralingeshwara, and Lord Venkateswara and extended greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He also conveyed his best wishes to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Highlighting Amaravati’s historical and cultural importance, Modi noted that the city was once the capital of Indra Lok and now symbolizes the aspirations of a modern, prosperous Andhra Pradesh. He stressed the need for collective efforts to fulfill the dream of ‘Swarna Andhra’ and transform Amaravati into a growth engine for a developed India. “This city will become a leader in IT, AI, green energy, clean industry, education, and healthcare,” he added.

He lauded Chief Minister Naidu’s technological foresight and praised the collaboration between the Centre and the state in speeding up infrastructure development. Major institutions such as the Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, and Raj Bhavan are now being prioritized for construction.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to a development model based on four key pillars: the poor, farmers, youth, and women. He cited that the Centre has spent over Rs. 12 lakh crore in the last decade on subsidized fertilizers and that Rs. 17,500 crore has been directly transferred to farmers in Andhra Pradesh under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Additionally, Rs. 5,500 crore in crop insurance claims have been disbursed under PM Fasal Bima Yojana.

He emphasized that infrastructure development is a multiplier for job creation, noting the increase in railway budget allocation from Rs. 900 crore (2009–2014) to over Rs. 9,000 crore today for Andhra Pradesh alone. The state now boasts 100% railway electrification, multiple Vande Bharat trains, and over 750 new flyovers and underpasses. Seventy railway stations are being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Among the projects inaugurated and launched were:

  • 7 completed National Highway projects, enhancing connectivity to major religious and tourist destinations like Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort.
  • Multiple railway projects, including line doubling between Bugganapalle Cement Nagar and Panyam, and a third line between Vijayawada and New West Block Hut Cabin.
  • Foundation for 6 new NH projects and one railway project, improving inter-state travel and reducing freight congestion.
  • Foundation for administrative infrastructure worth Rs. 11,240 crore including the High Court, Assembly, Secretariat, and residential buildings for over 5,200 families.
  • Land Pooling Infrastructure covering 1,281 km of roads, integrated utilities, and smart flood management, worth Rs. 20,400 crore.
  • Trunk Infrastructure and Flood Mitigation Systems spanning 320 km and valued at Rs. 17,400 crore.
  • Missile Testing Range at Nagayalanka worth Rs. 1,460 crore, with state-of-the-art instrumentation and tracking systems for enhancing national defense.
  • PM Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, envisioned to promote One District One Product (ODOP), rural artisans, and India’s rich heritage.

The Prime Minister emphasized India’s rise as a global leader in rapidly modernizing infrastructure and acknowledged Andhra Pradesh’s role in the nation’s space and defense achievements, notably from Sriharikota and now Nagayalanka.

He announced that the 10th International Day of Yoga on June 21 will be celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, and he will personally attend. Calling on the people to gear up for the event, he encouraged them to help set a world record.

“India’s unity is our true strength,” Modi concluded, underscoring the role of initiatives like Ekta Malls in celebrating diversity and building a stronger, self-reliant nation. Reaffirming his support for Andhra Pradesh, he stated, “I will stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of the state in their journey toward progress.”

The event was also attended by Andhra Pradesh Governor Syed Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Cabinet Ministers, and other dignitaries.
