Bhuttico, a leading name in the shawl industry in Himachal today celebrated birth anniversary of former minister late Lal Chand Prarthi in its auditorium at Bhutti colony in Kullu district.
Chairman of Bhuttico and former Horticulture Minister Satya Prakash Thakur, members of the Board of Directors and employees of the Bhuttico offered flowers on the portrait of former minister.
Satya Prakash Thakur said that Late Lal Chand Prarthi became the first Minister of Folk Culture and Cooperative in the HP government in 1966. He did many important works to promote folk culture. He is remembered as a visionary public servant not only in Kullu district but in the entire state. Today the entire state remembers his contribution towards folk art, culture and hill civilization.
“As a public servant, the culmination of development of Kullu-Manali is in front of us today in the form of art centre, hospital, college construction, and tourism development etc. Before independence, his role had been important in ending the practice of British forced labour for the society”he added.
“Himachal Pradesh’s largest Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra in Kullu is a unique example. Today this platform is the pride not only of Kullu but of the entire state. He has always given importance to the traditional clothes of Kullu. Pahari Language, Art, Culture-Civilization National Award is given every year in the memory of Late Lal Chand Prarthi Ji on behalf of Bhuttico and a cultural evening is also organized in his memory” he remarked.
On this occasion, Bhuttico Vice President Rohit Thakur, Mohar Singh, Board of Directors members Nirmala Devi, Indra Devi, Kalavati, Chief General Manager Vijay Thakur, Chief Advisor Ramesh Thakur, General Manager Roop Singh, Kishan Chand, Surti Devi, Anuj Thakur, Dinesh Thakur, Kavita Thakur, Neena Thakur, Om Prakash, Roshan Negi, Shashi Thakur, Shakuntala Devi, Kekati Devi, Sunil Thakur, Yashveer Thakur, Gaurav Thakur, Prem Singh, Lekhraj, Manish Chand Kishore and other employees were present.
