Abhilashi University Holds Grand 6th Convocation Ceremony: Education Minister Rohit Thakur Confers Degrees on 320 Graduates, Awards Gold Medals to 8 Toppers.

Abhilashi University witnessed a momentous occasion as it celebrated its 6th Convocation Ceremony with great pride and enthusiasm at its campus in Chailchowk, Mandi. The Chief Guest for the prestigious event was Rohit Thakur, Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, who conferred degrees on 320 graduating students and presented gold medals to eight meritorious scholars.
The convocation ceremony commenced with the traditional Saraswati Vandana followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge. The atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration as graduates, faculty, dignitaries, and families gathered to mark the academic milestone.
In his keynote address, Education Minister Rohit Thakur lauded the rapid progress and growing reputation of Abhilashi University. “Despite challenging circumstances, the university has established a distinct identity in the field of higher education and achieved a historic milestone in a remarkably short span of time,” he stated. He praised the university’s commitment to providing innovative and employment-oriented courses that are not only preparing students for the future but also contributing to the socio-economic development of the state.
“The Abhilashi Group’s journey from a humble coaching center to a full-fledged university is an inspiring story of hard work, honesty, and vision,” the minister noted, encouraging students to stay focused, avoid distractions like substance abuse, and adopt a blend of hard and smart work in their careers.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. R.K. Abhilashi, Chancellor of the university. Addressing the graduating class, Dr. Abhilashi described convocation day as a proud and transformative moment in the lives of students. He emphasized the importance of perseverance and readiness to face life’s challenges. Dr. Abhilashi highlighted the university’s pioneering role in introducing unique academic programs in Himachal Pradesh, reducing the need for students to migrate to other states for specialized education.
Vice Chancellor Prof. H.K. Chaudhary welcomed the dignitaries and guests and presented the university’s annual report. He attributed the university’s achievements to the collective efforts of the management, faculty, staff, and students. He also administered an oath of dedication to duty and ethical conduct to the graduating students, reminding them of their responsibilities as educated citizens.
A total of 320 students received their degrees, including 12 Ph.D. scholars, 161 undergraduate, and 147 postgraduate students. In recognition of academic excellence, eight students were awarded the prestigious Shri Tulsi Ram Abhilashi Memorial Gold Medal:

The convocation was attended by several dignitaries including former Minister Prakash Chaudhary, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Thakur Sohan Lal, SDM Balh, and Deputy Director of Education. From the university, Chancellor Dr. R.K. Abhilashi, Pro-Chancellor Dr. L.K. Abhilashi, Chairperson of Genius Education Society Dr. Narvada Abhilashi, Vice-Chairperson of Abhilashi Education Society Dr. Promila Abhilashi, and faculty members were present.
The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Devender Sharma, Student Welfare Officer, who appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in making the convocation a grand success. The event concluded with the national anthem, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all attendees.
