CM Sukhu Presides Over Grand Closing Ceremony of International Shimla Summer Festival.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the grand closing ceremony of the International Shimla Summer Festival at the historic Ridge on Thursday evening, marking the culmination of the vibrant annual celebration that drew locals and tourists alike.

In a ceremonial highlight, the Chief Minister released the official souvenir of the Summer Festival, which captures the spirit, cultural diversity, and artistic flair showcased during the multi-day event. The souvenir serves as a tribute to Himachal Pradesh’s rich heritage and the successful execution of the festival.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, who also serves as Chairman of the International Shimla Summer Festival Organising Committee, felicitated the Chief Minister with a traditional Himachali cap and shawl, along with a commemorative memento, in a gesture of respect and appreciation.

The event was graced by a number of dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, Shimla MLA Harish Janartha, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Mayor Surinder Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Vice Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Kehar Singh Khachi, and Advocate General Anup Kumar Rattan, among others.

After the formal proceedings, CM Sukhu took time to interact with tourists gathered at the Ridge, exchanging warm greetings and sharing insights about the significance of the festival in promoting tourism and cultural exchange in the hill state.

The International Shimla Summer Festival, known for its vibrant performances, local crafts, and cultural exhibitions, continues to be a major attraction for both domestic and international visitors, contributing significantly to the local economy and reinforcing Shimla’s status as a premier hill destination.
