Efforts Will Be Made to Provide All Possible Assistance to Disaster-Hit People of Seraj: Vijay Pal Singh.
Shimla:
Member of the Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission, Vijay Pal Singh, has assured that every possible effort will be made to help the people of Seraj who have been severely affected by recent floods and landslides. During his visit to assess disaster relief efforts in the Kuklah area of the Balichowki subdivision in Mandi district on Friday, Singh emphasized the scale of the devastation and the urgent need for continued assistance.
He stated that several areas of the Seraj Assembly constituency have been gravely impacted, with markets destroyed, many families rendered homeless, and remote villages still awaiting relief. “The situation is critical, and restoring normalcy will take time and consistent support,” he said.
Singh highlighted that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been closely monitoring the situation day and night. “The Chief Minister is in constant contact with the Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials to ensure timely relief reaches affected areas like Thunag and Janjehli,” he noted.
He also informed that the Chief Minister had conducted an aerial survey of the damage in Seraj and personally delivered ration supplies to affected villages like Raingalu and Janjehli. “CM Sukhu has previously stood by the people during the 2023 disaster as well, and once again he is personally visiting affected areas, including Dharampur, to understand the pain and needs of the victims,” Singh added.
Vijay Pal Singh assured the residents that all departments are working on a war footing to restore essential services like roads, electricity, and drinking water. During his visit, he met several affected families, listened to their grievances, and offered them words of comfort. “The Chief Minister understands the pain of the common man and is committed to ensuring that every possible support is extended to those in need,” he affirmed.
Relief Distribution by SDM and Team in Kuklah
Meanwhile, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and his team also visited disaster-hit areas in Kuklah and distributed essential relief materials such as tarpaulins and blankets to affected families. The local administration is actively working on the ground to provide immediate relief and restore basic infrastructure.
The situation in Seraj remains challenging, but with coordinated efforts from the government and administration, recovery work is progressing steadily.
