Congress Launches ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ Signature Campaign in Mandi, Targets 20,000 Signatures.
Shimla:
In a significant political move ahead of the upcoming elections, the Congress party today launched its district-level signature campaign titled ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ in Mandi. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about alleged vote tampering during previous Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
The campaign was officially launched in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Vidit Chaudhary, Dharampur MLA Chander Shekhar, former ministers Rangila Ram Rao and Prakash Chaudhary, and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sohan Lal Thakur.

A large number of Congress leaders and workers were present at the launch event, including Champa Thakur, Joginder Guleria, Jiwan Thakur, Jagdish Reddy, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Harinder Sen, Shashi Sharma, Rajender Mohan, Anil Sen, and several others.
Addressing the media at the event, MLA Chander Shekhar explained that the campaign is being carried out on the directions of the Congress high command, following serious concerns raised by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over reported incidents of vote theft, which, according to the party, negatively impacted its performance in previous elections.
“Our main goal with this campaign is to awaken voters at the grassroots level and to ensure that future elections are conducted in a free and fair manner,” Chander Shekhar stated. He further informed that the party has set a target of collecting 20,000 signatures from Mandi district alone, which will be submitted to the party’s state leadership in Shimla on October 12.

Chander Shekhar also called upon all local Congress leaders and workers to actively participate in the campaign and ensure its success in their respective areas.
The ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ campaign marks a renewed push by the Congress to highlight electoral integrity and mobilize grassroots support, especially in politically sensitive regions like Mandi.
