In a proud and significant development for the sports fraternity of Himachal Pradesh, Union Minister and Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur has been unanimously elected as the President of the Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association. The announcement has been met with widespread appreciation, with prominent sports personalities and administrators hailing it as a milestone for the state’s sporting future.

Vice President of Hockey Himachal and President of the Mandi District Hockey Association, Raja Singh Malhotra, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Anurag Thakur on his appointment. Speaking to media, Malhotra stated that Thakur’s selection to this prestigious role is a reflection of his exceptional and consistent contribution to the development of sports in the state and the country.

“Anurag Thakur has always been a dynamic and visionary leader in the field of sports. His work through the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has placed Himachal Pradesh on the international sports map. Now, with him leading the Olympic movement in the state, we are confident that Himachal will establish new benchmarks in Olympic sports as well,” said Malhotra.
