Held today, the event featured a series of lectures and interactions designed to inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals. The program began with a special online keynote address by Dr. Ranjana Verma, Professor of Food Science, Nutrition & Technology at CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur. Dr. Verma emphasized the need for collective action among farmers, researchers, policymakers, and youth to create resilient food systems. She encouraged students to take a proactive role in agricultural innovation and become agents of change in their communities.
In a written message, Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.K. Chaudhary highlighted the significance of World Food Day in building awareness around food and nutrition security. He stressed the importance of adopting innovative and sustainable practices, including water-smart agriculture, to ensure long-term food sufficiency and environmental stewardship.
Prof. P.C. Sharma, Dean of the School of Agriculture, also addressed the gathering and shared his experiences in sustainable farming. He underlined the indispensable role of youth in transforming the agricultural sector and encouraged students to actively engage with farming communities to develop inclusive and environmentally friendly farming practices.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sandeep Kumar, who expressed deep gratitude to the university’s leadership for their continued support in fostering scientific thinking and sustainability on campus. He acknowledged the contributions of Chancellor Dr. R.K. Abhilashi, Pro-Chancellor Dr. L.K. Abhilashi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.K. Chaudhary, Registrar Dr. Kapil Kapoor, Chairperson (GES) Dr. Narvada Abhilashi, Vice-Chairperson (AES) Dr. Promila Abhilashi and Secretary Narender Kumar.

Through such initiatives, Abhilashi University continues to empower students to become future-ready agricultural leaders committed to the well-being of people and the planet.
