Sunny Eapen, Former District President Minority Cell Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Mandi said that Politics on the name of religion is not good for the country.

He said that in the last few years, the way politics is being done in the name of religion in the country, many protectors of religion have been born here. He alleged that these religious protectors tortured hundreds of innocent people and pelted stones and vandalized many religious places of minorities in different parts of the country.

He alleged that “in the last one year, in Manipur, a state of our country, several  churches were vandalised and many Christians were murdered. Women were also sexually assaulted.

“Till date the Prime Minister of our country has not been able to reach there to inquire about the well-being of affected families. On one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and some of his friends express concern over some Hindu minorities of neighboring countries in Pakistan and Bangladesh, but he and the BJP were not seen expressing concern over the injustice and atrocities being committed on the minorities in the country” said Sunny.

“Some time ago, in a village of District Mandi, people of Christian religion were prevented from offering prayers in their own homes and some religious protectors accused them of forceful conversion. However in the investigation led by district administration, the accusations were found false” he said.

“Such false allegations are not only made in Mandi, but in the different parts of the country by these protectors of religion, which is creating disharmony among the people of different religions” he remarked.

“I urge the protectors of religion that they should give up such hateful thinking and misdeeds towards the human race. It must for the welfare of country.
