“Jan Samman – Police Apnapan” Campaign Strengthens Community Bond in Lahaul-Spiti.

Under the directions of Superintendent of Police Shivani Mehla, IPS, the Lahaul & Spiti District Police organized a special awareness and interaction program today as part of the ongoing campaign “Jan Samman – Police Apnapan”. The event was held under the theme “Jan Suraksha Sankalp – Ek Din Police Ke Saath” to promote trust and understanding between the police and the community.

A total of 27 students and five teachers from Government Senior Secondary School, Jahalma, along with Dr. Ayush and two staff members from the Primary Health Centre, Jahalma, participated in the session.

During the program, police officials briefed the participants on police duties, functioning, ethics, and work conditions. Students were also educated about drug prevention, traffic safety, cyber fraud awareness, and social responsibility. An interactive question-and-answer session allowed students to engage directly with officers.

Dr. Ayush addressed the gathering on the ill effects of drug abuse, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The event concluded with the distribution of biscuits and refreshments. Participants expressed gratitude to the police department for the informative and engaging session.

The initiative marked a meaningful step towards enhancing mutual trust, cooperation, and community connection between the police and the public in the district.
