Jeevan Singh Thakur Elected District President of HP Headmasters and Principals Association, Mandi.

In the bi-annual elections of the Himachal Pradesh Headmasters and Principals Association, District Mandi, held on November 30, 2025, at Hotel Ashiana Regency near Dhanotu, Sunder Nagar in Mandi district, a new District Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term was unanimously elected. Jeevan Singh Thakur, Headmaster of Government High School Thawari, was chosen as District President, while Roop Singh Kataria, Headmaster of Government High School Kheel, was elected District General Secretary. Inder Singh, Headmaster of Government High School Naun, was unanimously elected Treasurer.
The election process was conducted under the supervision of observers from District Kullu—Senior Vice President Sher Singh and District General Secretary Rajesh Bodh—who ensured a transparent and orderly voting procedure. Approximately 60 Headmasters and Principals from across District Mandi participated in the election, marking an enthusiastic and active involvement in the association’s democratic process.
Earlier in the proceedings, outgoing Treasurer Yogesh Kumar presented the income-expenditure report for the period 2022–2025, which received unanimous approval from the house. The outgoing District Executive Committee, comprising District President Naresh Mahajan, General Secretary Mamta Chaudhary, Treasurer Yogesh Kumar, Joint Treasurer Nanak Chand and Headmaster Gopal, honoured five retired Principals and three retired Headmasters along with their families for their dedicated service.
Following the felicitation ceremony, District President Naresh Mahajan formally dissolved the 2022–2025 Executive Committee and handed over the responsibility of conducting the new election to the appointed observers from Kullu.
The election concluded smoothly, resulting in the unanimous formation of the new District Executive Committee, which is expected to work towards strengthening the association and addressing key academic and administrative issues concerning Headmasters and Principals in District Mandi.
