Dharamshala:

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed Samridhi Bhawan, the modern office complex of the Municipal Corporation (MC) Dharamshala. Built at a cost of Rs. 24.47 crore, the facility is expected to transform civic administration and enhance public service delivery in the region.

The building, designed in strict compliance with Earthquake Zone-5 safety norms, spans a total built-up area of 2,511 square metres. Equipped with modern architectural and safety features, the structure stands as a resilient and future-ready administrative centre.

One of the key highlights of Samridhi Bhawan is its two-level basement parking, offering space for 80 vehicles, with dedicated parking zones for both staff and the general public—an essential addition in the busy hill city of Dharamshala.

Emphasizing sustainability, the new MC office is fitted with a 50 KW solar power plant, rainwater harvesting systems, a 30,000-litre water storage facility, and an advanced fire alarm system, ensuring energy efficiency and enhanced safety standards.

Speaking at the inauguration, CM Sukhu said the building would serve as a modern hub for administrative efficiency, citizen-centric services, and sustainable governance. He added that Samridhi Bhawan’s strategic location and advanced facilities would streamline municipal operations and set a benchmark for urban infrastructure development across the state.

The event saw the presence of several notable leaders, including MLA Suresh Kumar, former MP Viplove Thakur, Dharamshala Mayor Neenu Sharma, Congress leader Devender Jaggi, HP Wool Federation Chairman Manoj Thakur, and APMC Kangra Chairman Nishu Mongra, among other dignitaries.

With its inauguration, Dharamshala’s civic administration enters a new era of efficiency, sustainability, and improved public engagement.
