Shemford Little Star School Students Enthrall Audience at Annual Function in Mandi.

The annual prize distribution and cultural function of Shemford Little Star School, Mandi, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur at the auditorium of Sardar Patel University on Sunday. The event witnessed vibrant performances by young students, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed.
Renowned educationist and social worker Dharmender Rana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, who was accompanied by President Press Club Mandi Subhash Thakur and other dignitaries on the stage. He was warmly welcomed by the school’s Associate Director Dr. Nidhi Gupta and Principal Jitender Rana, who honoured him with a traditional shawl and cap.

The programme commenced with the patriotic song “Vande Mataram”, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The opening performances by the tiny tots of the school captivated the audience and set an energetic tone for the event.
A special presence on the occasion was Damodar Das, the elderly grandfather of Associate Director Dr. Nidhi Gupta, who attended the function as a Special Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nidhi Gupta presented a detailed report of the school’s year-long academic and co-curricular achievements. She highlighted that the school actively encourages students to participate in sports, cultural, and other extracurricular activities alongside academics.
During the ceremony, Chief Guest Dharmender Rana distributed prizes to students who excelled in sports and various co-curricular activities. In his address, he emphasized that the combined efforts of teachers and parents play a vital role in shaping a child’s overall development and success.
Dr. Sunil Thakur, Dean of the Planning Department at Sardar Patel University, also addressed the audience and congratulated the school on the successful organisation of the annual function. He appreciated the impressive performances of the children and acknowledged the hard work put in by both teachers and students.

One of the highlights of the event was a special tribute presented by the young students to legendary actor Dharmendra, through a song-based performance, which won loud applause from the audience.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Jitender Rana, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guests, parents, teachers, staff members, and students for their wholehearted cooperation in making the annual function a grand success.
