Budhi Prakash Elected Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Travel Agents Association in Annual Meeting.
Shimla:
The Himachal Pradesh Travel Agents Association held its annual general meeting recently with a focus on renewing memberships and expanding its executive body. In this important gathering, Budhi Prakash of Manali was unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the association.
Alongside this major appointment, Raj Kumar Dogra was named Chief Advisor. Additional advisors elected include Anil Sharma, Naushad, Vishal, Lal Chand, and Jai Ram. The meeting saw active participation from existing office-bearers including president Hira Lal Rana, Shainav Sharma, Dayanand, Gagan Thakur, and other members.
A significant resolution passed during the meeting mandates compulsory membership of the association for every travel agent operating in the tourism sector of the state. Strict action will be taken against individuals or businesses found running unauthorized travel agency operations.
The association also appealed to local shopkeepers and dhaba operators not to display any kind of travel-related posters or hoardings without proper registration. Citizens and tourists are advised to avail services only from travel agents registered with the Department of Tourism for reliable and lawful travel-related services.
The association, in coordination with the tourism department, may conduct surprise inspections at any time. Those found violating regulations will face appropriate penalties.
This move is aimed at bringing greater transparency, accountability, and professionalism to the travel and tourism sector of Himachal Pradesh, ensuring a safe and reliable experience for tourists and a fair environment for registered agents.
