BJP to Organise Cleanliness Drive and Tribute Programme in Manali to Mark Birth Centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Commemorating the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bharatiya Janata Party is organising a series of programmes across the country during the Atal Smriti Varsh. As part of these nationwide commemorations, the BJP Manali Assembly Constituency will hold special events in Manali on December 24.

Former minister and senior BJP leader Govind Singh Thakur said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee shared a deep and emotional bond with Himachal Pradesh, particularly with Manali. He recalled that Manali held a special place in the life and memories of the former Prime Minister, and the people of the region continue to remember him with great respect and affection.

Giving details of the programme, Thakur said that a cleanliness drive and garlanding ceremony will be organised at 8 am on December 24 at the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee located on Manali Mall Road. The initiative aims to pay homage to the visionary leader while promoting the values of cleanliness and civic responsibility that he stood for.

In the evening, a lamp-lighting (Deep Prajwalan) ceremony will be held at 6 pm around Atal Ji’s statue, where party leaders, workers and citizens will collectively pay tribute to the former Prime Minister.

Govind Singh Thakur appealed to all respected citizens and BJP workers to attend the programme at the scheduled time and contribute to making the event dignified and meaningful. He said that such programmes not only honour the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee but also serve as a reminder of his enduring contributions to the nation and his special connection with Himachal Pradesh.

The senior BJP leader added that the birth centenary celebrations are an opportunity for the younger generation to draw inspiration from Atal Ji’s ideals of nationalism, good governance and inclusive development, which continue to guide the party and the nation.
