On the eve of Christmas, the Roerich Art Gallery in Naggar witnessed a celebration of art and nature as journalist-turned-artist Priya Shandilya inaugurated her first solo art exhibition. Titled around the essence of Himalayan life, the exhibition was formally inaugurated by Excellence Award winner and Baragarh Resort owner Nakul Khullar.

Speaking on the occasion, Nakul Khullar appreciated Priya Shandilya’s artistic expression and the depth reflected in her paintings. Along with praising her work, he also encouraged the artist to explore socially relevant themes in her future exhibitions. He specifically urged her to create artworks based on the theme “Say No to Drugs”, emphasizing the role of art in spreading awareness among the younger generation against substance abuse.

Priya Shandilya has been living in Himachal Pradesh for the past three years. Professionally a journalist, she developed a deeper connection with art after relocating to the hills. Her debut exhibition showcases stunning canvas works inspired by the Himalayan landscape—mist-covered mountains, towering deodar forests, and the serene atmosphere of hill life.

The two-day exhibition is being held from December 24 to December 25, 2025, drawing art lovers and visitors to the gallery during the festive season.

The event was attended by Roerich Art Gallery curators Suresh Nadda (Indian Curator) and Larisa (Russian Curator), along with Priya’s associates Santosh, Shilpa Thakur, Sanjeev Thakur, and members of the media, making the occasion a vibrant cultural gathering in Naggar.
