45 Palestinians killed in an Israel air strike, global leaders outcry.

The Eagle News Service:
The Israeli airstrike on a tent camp in Rafah, Gaza, resulted in a devastating fire that claimed the lives of 45 people, including women, children, and elderly individuals, according to officials.
The strike, which occurred late on Sunday night, caused tents and makeshift shelters to go up in flames, prompting Palestinian families to hurriedly prepare their deceased loved ones for burial.
Israel’s military, engaged in operations to target Hamas militants in Gaza, stated it was investigating reports that the strike aimed at Hamas commanders inadvertently caused the fire.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed regret over the civilian casualties, emphasizing that efforts were made to avoid harm to non-combatants.
However, survivors recounted moments of horror as the strike struck while families were preparing for sleep, resulting in chaos and panic as fire engulfed the area. Video footage captured scenes of people screaming amidst the flames, with limited firefighting resources available to tackle the inferno.
Health officials in Gaza, under Hamas administration, reported that more than half of the casualties were women, children, and elderly individuals, with the death toll expected to rise due to severe burn injuries.
The incident has sparked international outcry, with global leaders urging adherence to a World Court order to cease Israel’s military actions. Meanwhile, opposition lawmakers in Israel interrupted Netanyahu’s parliamentary address with shouts of protest, highlighting the contentious nature of the situation.
As investigations continue into the tragic event, the toll of civilian lives lost underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region amidst escalating hostilities.
