The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic fervor at the Sub-Divisional level in Kaza. The main event was organized at the premises of the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kaza, where people from different sections of society gathered to mark the historic occasion.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kaza, Shikha Simtia, graced the event as the Chief Guest. She hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the parade presented by the police personnel. The atmosphere resonated with national pride as the tricolour fluttered high against the Himalayan backdrop.

Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shikha extended warm greetings and best wishes to all on the occasion of Republic Day. She said that January 26 holds immense historical and constitutional significance for every Indian, as it was on this day in 1950 that the Constitution of India came into force, establishing India as the world’s largest democratic republic.

She paid rich tributes to the architects of the Constitution and remembered the supreme sacrifices made by freedom fighters for the nation’s independence. Highlighting the strength of the Indian Constitution, she stated that it provides equal opportunities for growth and development to all citizens without discrimination and is one of the strongest and most comprehensive constitutions in the world.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Republic Day reminds citizens not only of the sacrifices of freedom fighters but also of their responsibilities as citizens. While the Constitution grants several rights, she said, it is equally important to perform our duties with sincerity so that the country and the state continue to progress on the path of development.

She further added that since independence, the nation and the state have made continuous progress in various sectors such as education, health, roads, electricity, tourism, and technology, contributing to overall socio-economic development.

During the program, ADC also distributed prizes to participants who had actively contributed to various activities, encouraging public participation and community spirit.

Among those present on the occasion were District Youth President and TAC Member Kesang Rapchik, Block Development Officer Anshul, Pradhan Kaza Sonam Dolma, officers and employees of various departments, public representatives, and local residents, all of whom participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.
