BJP MPs Failed to Safeguard Himachal’s Interests in Union Budget: Darshan Thakur.

BJP MPs Failed to Safeguard Himachal’s Interests in Union Budget, says Congress leader Darshan Thakur.

Shimla:

Congress leader from Mandi Darshan Thakur has strongly criticized the Union Budget presented by the Modi-led Central Government, calling it “deeply disappointing” for the people of Himachal Pradesh.  Thakur alleged that despite having four BJP Members of Parliament from the state, Himachal’s interests were not adequately protected at the national level.

He said that the hill state, which has been severely affected by natural disasters in recent years, was in urgent need of a special economic relief package.

According to Thakur, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had repeatedly urged the Centre to grant a special financial package to support rehabilitation, rebuild damaged infrastructure, and revive the state’s fragile economy. However, he claimed that the Centre failed to respond positively to this appeal.

Thakur further termed the reported discontinuation of the RDG (Revenue Deficit Grant) for disaster-affected Himachal as a “major blow” to the state’s financial stability. He described the move as an attack on the interests of the people of Himachal Pradesh.

The Congress leader asserted that the Union Budget has overlooked the pressing needs of the disaster-hit state, leaving its citizens feeling neglected and disappointed.
