Himachal Pradesh BJP Leader Criticizes Police Actions in AI Summit Incident.

Shimla:

Rakesh Jamwal, BJP state spokesperson and MLA from Sundernagar, has expressed strong criticism over the handling of the recent AI Summit protest incident involving three young Congress leaders from Rohru. He raised concerns about the Delhi Police personnel being taken into custody by Himachal Pradesh police during the episode in Dharampur, Solan.

Calling it an unprecedented situation, Jamwal said that it was the first time in Himachal’s history that one state’s police intervened in the legal action of another state’s force. He described the act as a mockery of law and order, claiming that it reflects “lawlessness” and the protection of individuals affiliated with the Congress party.

Jamwal accused the state Congress government of actively shielding those whose actions, he said, tarnished India’s image on an international platform. He argued that the incident highlights a deeper issue of failing governance and the need for accountability.

He emphasized that the Congress party’s statements on nationalism contrast sharply with the protection allegedly given to those who disrespect the nation. Stressing the importance of law and constitutional values, Jamwal said that the BJP would continue to raise its voice to defend national honor and uphold legal order in the state.
