Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif declared victory in national elections in Pakistan.

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif declared the victory of his party in national elections yesterday.

He said that his party has emerged as the largest winning party in the election and he will talk to other political parties to form a coalition government as his party had failed to win a clear majority on its own in this election.

The polling was ended yesterday in Pakistan and 28 deaths were occurred because of militant attacks there. His announcement came after more than three-quarters of the 265 seats had declared results.

The political Analysts had predicted that there may be no clear majority of any party in this election in Pakistan.

According to the election results declared in Pakistan, the independents, most of them backed by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, had won the most seats – 92 of the 225 counted yesterday.

Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party won 64 seats, while the Pakistan People’s Party of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the son of assassinated premier Benazir Bhutto, got 50 seats. The rest seats were won by small parties and other independents.

“We invite the winner candidates whether they are independent or related to any party to sit with us to form a government” he remarked.

A three-time former prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, 74′ returned back to his country after four years of self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom late last year. He contested the last election from a jail cell on a graft conviction.

Sharif was considered the front-runner to lead the country after election results. He had buried a long-running feud with the powerful military of Pakistan.

He said that his party would have preferred to win a majority of its own but in the absence of that it would get in touch with others, including former President Asif Ali Zardari of PPP, to open negotiations to form the government.
