HP CM urges Union Minister for MPP and Power to resolve state issues.

Shimla:
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met with Union Minister for MPP and Power Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi today to address critical issues concerning Himachal Pradesh pending with the Ministry.
Chief Minister Sukhu appealed to the Union Minister to restore the rights of the Shanan Power Project to the state, emphasizing that the lease period had expired and necessitated a resolution. He also pressed for a prompt decision on the long-pending issue of releasing Himachal Pradesh’s share from the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), which has been awaited for several years and is adversely impacting the state’s finances.
Additionally, Chief Minister Sukhu sought the Minister’s support for the establishment of a mega solar park in Spiti Valley, highlighting its potential to significantly boost renewable energy generation in the region.
Union Minister Khattar assured Chief Minister Sukhu of his personal attention to these matters and instructed ministry officials to take immediate steps towards resolving the issues discussed.
Accompanying Chief Minister Sukhu during the meeting were Principal Advisor Ram Subhag Singh, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty, and senior officers from both the Chief Minister’s office and the Ministry of Power.
