This operation, aimed at safeguarding children in precarious situations across various Indian Railway Zones, has been pivotal in ensuring the safety and protection of young lives.

Since its inception, ‘Operation Nanhe Faristey’ has seen consistent efforts by the RPF, resulting in numerous successful rescues each year. In 2018, the initiative began with the rescue of 17,112 children, setting a strong foundation for subsequent years. The operation continued to make significant strides, despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which temporarily disrupted operations but did not diminish the resolve of the RPF.

Integral to these efforts are the establishment of child helpdesks at over 135 railway stations and the utilization of the Track Child Portal, ensuring comprehensive support for aggrieved children.

Each rescued child is subsequently handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee, which facilitates their safe return to families, underscoring a holistic approach to child welfare.

‘Operation Nanhe Faristey’ continues to evolve, adapting to new challenges and reaffirming its role as a beacon of hope for vulnerable children across India’s expansive railway network.
