Gujarat:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Sardardham Hostel in Vadodara and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, self-reliance, and education-driven development amid ongoing global uncertainties.
Addressing a large gathering at Sardar Dham, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Dr. Dushyant and Daksha Patel Complex, launched a Teaching Assistance Scheme, and laid the foundation stone for several educational projects. He described these initiatives as vital platforms for empowering youth and strengthening the nation’s future.
Modi said meaningful and long-lasting change is possible only when society and government work together. Referring to the National Education Policy, he stated that the reforms are based on practical realities and aim to promote skill development, innovation, apprenticeship opportunities, and equal access to education.
Highlighting India’s growing startup ecosystem, the Prime Minister noted that major startups are now emerging from smaller towns and that women’s participation in entrepreneurship is steadily increasing. He said sectors once considered risky are becoming the preferred career choice of the youth, adding that India’s skilled workforce would accelerate manufacturing growth in the coming years.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of women’s empowerment and highlighted increasing participation of women in sectors such as defence, aviation, politics, and business. He said Gujarat had recognized the importance of women-led development decades ago and noted that several national welfare schemes are now helping women become financially independent.
Speaking about global instability, Modi described the ongoing conflict in West Asia as one of the biggest crises of the decade after the Covid-19 pandemic. He assured citizens that the government is making every possible effort to minimize the impact of the crisis on India.
Appealing for public participation, the Prime Minister urged citizens to reduce dependence on imported products, conserve fuel, avoid unnecessary foreign exchange expenditure, and support local industries. He encouraged people to use public transport, adopt carpooling, reduce fuel consumption, prioritize virtual meetings, and spend vacations within India.
Reiterating the “Vocal for Local” message, Modi called upon citizens to support Indian-made products and strengthen local entrepreneurs. He said collective efforts by 140 crore Indians could become the nation’s greatest strength during challenging times.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Gujarat’s rapid growth in sectors such as semiconductors, aerospace, green energy, engineering, and manufacturing, stating that cities like Vadodara are emerging as major industrial and innovation hubs in the country.
