Chandigarh:

Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh, son of six-time former Chief Minister Late Virbhadra Singh and current Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) President Pratibha Singh, got married to Amreen Kaur in an intimate ceremony in Chandigarh on Monday September 22.

The couple solemnized their wedding through a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony held at a gurdwara in Sector 11, Chandigarh. The ceremony was conducted as per Sikh rituals and was attended by close family members and friends. It was a private affair, devoid of any large public or political gathering.

The bride, Amreen Kaur, is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Punjab University, Chandigarh. She is the daughter of Jotinder Singh Sekhon and Opinder Kaur, residents of Chandigarh.

This marks the second marriage of Vikramaditya Singh. He was earlier married to Sudarshana Singh Chundawat, a member of the erstwhile royal family of Amet, Rajasthan, in 2019. However, the couple had filed for divorce and were legally separated around two months ago.

Vikramaditya Singh is a second-term MLA from the Shimla Rural Assembly Constituency and holds a significant place in Himachal Pradesh politics, representing the legacy of the Virbhadra Singh family. He has been actively involved in state affairs and currently handles the important PWD portfolio in the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government.

The wedding news drew warm wishes from across the political spectrum. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, senior Congress leaders, and members of the Opposition extended their congratulations to the newlywed couple.

The low-key event is expected to be followed by a reception, though no official details have been shared by the family yet.
