New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the transformative role of women in India’s development journey, stating that the Government’s sustained efforts over the past 12 years have significantly advanced women-led development across multiple sectors.

In a series of posts shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that women today are making remarkable contributions in fields ranging from financial inclusion and entrepreneurship to education, healthcare, sanitation, housing, sports, science, and governance.

According to Modi, the Government’s approach has been centered on dignity, opportunity, and empowerment, creating an environment where women can realize their full potential and contribute more effectively to nation-building.

He noted that India’s women are increasingly emerging as key drivers of economic and social progress, with their participation becoming more visible across both traditional and emerging sectors.

Growing Presence in Science, Space and Innovation

The Prime Minister expressed particular satisfaction over the achievements of Indian women in areas such as science, space exploration, and innovation. He observed that women are not only excelling in established professions but are also making significant strides in cutting-edge fields.

Modi highlighted the growing involvement of women in drone technology, describing it as a development that is opening new avenues of employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation while transforming the country’s development landscape.

He said the increasing participation of women in technology-driven sectors reflects the changing aspirations and capabilities of India’s workforce and contributes to the country’s vision of becoming a global innovation leader.

Self-Help Groups Strengthening Financial Independence

Emphasizing the importance of economic empowerment, the Prime Minister noted that the Government is actively supporting Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the country. He said these groups have played a crucial role in enhancing women’s financial independence and encouraging entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

Through access to credit, skill development, and livelihood opportunities, Self-Help Groups have enabled millions of women to become self-reliant and active contributors to local economies.

Nari Shakti at the Core of Nation-Building

Sharing a Sanskrit Subhashitam, Modi described India’s Nari Shakti as the cornerstone of nation-building and the true embodiment of strength and capability.

He said that mothers, sisters, and daughters across the country are bringing pride to the nation through their talent, dedication, and achievements in every sphere of life.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the progress of women is intrinsically linked to the progress of the nation and reiterated the Government’s commitment to creating greater opportunities for women in education, employment, entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation.

Vision for an Inclusive Future

The Prime Minister’s remarks come as the Government continues to focus on initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation in economic and social development. Over the years, various schemes promoting financial inclusion, healthcare access, sanitation, housing ownership, education, and entrepreneurship have sought to improve the status and opportunities available to women.

Modi reaffirmed that women-led development remains a key pillar of the Government’s vision for a stronger, more inclusive, and self-reliant India, where women play a leading role in shaping the country’s future.
