Agriculture Minister Chandar Kumar Praises Bhuttico’s Legacy and Quality During Visit.

Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof. Chandar Kumar received a warm welcome during his visit to Bhuttico, one of the country’s leading cooperative societies, on Tuesday. The visit provided an opportunity for the minister to interact with weavers, employees, and management while gaining firsthand knowledge of the organization’s operations.
Former Horticulture Minister and Bhuttico Chairman Satya Prakash Thakur guided the minister through the factory and weavers’ colony, explaining the cooperative’s functioning, achievements, and future plans. During the tour, Thakur highlighted how Bhuttico successfully sustained its business operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, overcoming numerous challenges while continuing its growth and maintaining employment opportunities for local artisans.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Chandar Kumar lauded Bhuttico for consistently maintaining the quality of its products, which have earned recognition not only across Himachal Pradesh but also in national and international markets. He said the contribution of late Thakur Ved Ram in establishing and strengthening the cooperative remains invaluable and continues to inspire its success.
The minister described Bhuttico as the country’s largest cooperative society of its kind and appreciated its efficient management and commitment to preserving traditional weaving while adapting to modern market demands. Impressed by the organization’s functioning, he congratulated Chairman Satya Prakash Thakur, the management, and all members for their collective efforts.
The event also featured vibrant cultural performances by Bhuttico’s weavers, who entertained attendees with traditional folk songs and the popular Himachali Nati dance.
Among those present were Vice Chairman Rohit Thakur, Mohar Singh, Directors Madan Lal, Sohan Singh, Indra Devi, senior management officials, employees, and weavers.
