Shimla:

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to transparent, accountable and citizen-centric governance, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that modern technology was being extensively integrated into government functioning to enhance efficiency and ensure effective delivery of public services.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while presiding over a review meeting of the Digital Technologies and Governance Department in Shimla, where he assessed the progress of the Chief Minister Dashboard—an online platform developed to monitor the implementation of various government projects, schemes and flagship programmes in real time.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the initiatives of the Horticulture Department that are being finalized for integration into the digital platform. He directed officials to expedite the process and said that other departments would also identify and finalize their flagship programmes for inclusion on the dashboard in the coming months. This would facilitate continuous monitoring and timely assessment of government initiatives across sectors.

Highlighting the achievements of the present state government over the past three-and-a-half years, Sukhu said that several welfare-oriented programmes and policy initiatives had been launched with the objective of improving the lives of the people. He stressed that the benefits of these schemes must reach every eligible beneficiary without delay or discrimination.

“The Chief Minister Dashboard will serve as an effective mechanism for monitoring the progress and implementation of various schemes and programmes. It will help ensure greater accountability and enable timely interventions wherever required,” he said.

The Chief Minister further emphasized that the use of digital technologies in governance was playing a crucial role in strengthening transparency, improving administrative efficiency and enhancing service delivery. He added that technology-driven governance would help bridge gaps in implementation and ensure that the maximum benefits of government schemes reach the people of the state.

Officials informed the Chief Minister about the ongoing efforts to expand the scope of the dashboard and integrate key departmental programmes for better coordination and data-driven decision-making.

Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Secretaries C. Paulrasu and Ashish Singhmar, along with other senior officers of the state government, were present during the meeting.
