Hockey Himachal Selects 25 Probables for Junior Men’s National Championship 2026.

Hockey Himachal has shortlisted 25 junior players for the upcoming 16th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Championship 2026 following a selection trial held at the local hockey ground in Mandi on Saturday.
A total of 85 junior male players from across the state participated in the selection process, showcasing their skills for a place in the Himachal Pradesh team that will compete at the prestigious national championship.
According to Hockey Himachal, the 25 selected players will now undergo a two-week training camp, after which the final 18-member Himachal Pradesh junior men’s team will be announced for the national tournament.
The 16th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Championship 2026 is scheduled to be held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, from July 28 to August 8, 2026, and will feature top junior teams from across the country.
The selection trials were conducted under the supervision of Chief Coach Ajit Thakur, along with Hockey Coach Ashish Sen from Mandi and Kunal Sharma, who assessed the players’ technical abilities, fitness and overall performance during the trials.
Several officials and members of Hockey Himachal and Hockey Mandi were also present during the selection process, including Raj Kumar, Devender Singh, Daljit Singh, Naresh Kumar, Khem Singh Malik, and Shikha.
Hockey Himachal officials expressed confidence that the training camp would help identify the strongest combination for the state team and prepare the players for the highly competitive national championship.
The selection process was held under the guidance of Raja Singh Malhotra, President of Hockey Mandi and Senior Vice-President of Hockey Himachal, who extended his best wishes to the shortlisted players and expressed hope that the team would perform well at the national event in Coimbatore.
