Rotary Club Mandi Installs New Leadership for 2026–27, Pledges to Expand Community Service Initiatives.

Dr. Tara Devi Sen takes over as President; club outlines roadmap for education, healthcare, skill development and environmental conservation.

Rotary Club Mandi installed its new team of office bearers for the Rotary Year 2026–27 during a ceremony marked by the spirit of service, leadership and community commitment. The installation programme was attended by senior Rotarians, distinguished guests and prominent citizens from the region.

District Governor Elect Rtn. Vijay Sahdev administered the oath of office and confidentiality to the newly elected President, Rtn. Dr. Tara Devi Sen, Secretary, Rtn. Dr. Jeevanand, and the newly constituted Board of Directors. Congratulating the incoming leadership, he expressed confidence that Rotary Club Mandi would continue to strengthen its legacy of meaningful community service and implement impactful projects for the welfare of society.

Presenting the club’s annual report, President Rtn. Dr. Tara Devi Sen highlighted the achievements made during the tenure of outgoing President Rtn. Kaushlesh Kapoor. She said the club had successfully carried out projects covering six of Rotary International’s seven Areas of Focus, including disease prevention and treatment, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, community economic development and environmental protection.

She said Rotary Club Mandi also extended relief to families affected by floods through various humanitarian initiatives. Among the year’s most notable achievements was the establishment of the Rotary Vocational Centre for Eco Craft, a permanent initiative aimed at promoting environmental conservation, skill development, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The projects undertaken during the year benefited hundreds of people across the district while encouraging greater public participation in community service and environmental awareness.

Sharing her vision for the new Rotary year, Dr. Tara Devi Sen said the club would intensify its efforts in capacity building, skill enhancement, livelihood promotion, quality education, healthcare, disease prevention and environmental conservation. She said the club would work in close collaboration with government departments, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, self-help groups and local communities to implement sustainable and need-based development programmes.

The ceremony also witnessed the induction of four new members into Rotary Club Mandi. Rtn. Rajenddd Thakur (Retired Principal), Rtn. Er. Ravi Singh Rana, Dr. Jai Ram Kondal and Rtn. Dayal Singh Thakur (Retired Principal) were formally inducted by District Governor Elect Rtn. Vijay Sahdev, who presented them with the Rotary pin.

Another highlight of the event was the release of the book Buransh Ke Phoolon Tale, co-authored by Dr. Tara Devi Sen and Dr. Dinesh Dharampal. The book was released by District Governor Elect Rtn. Vijay Sahdev and reflects the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Himalayas while promoting the importance of environmental conservation.

The installation ceremony was attended by Assistant Governor Rtn. Sarla Gautam, District Chair Rtn. Tilak Nayak, senior Rotarians, distinguished guests and prominent citizens, who extended their best wishes to the newly elected leadership.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by Rotary Club Mandi to uphold Rotary International’s motto, “Service Above Self,” by continuing to serve society through impactful initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental protection, skill development and community welfare.
