DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, scripted a remarkable success by emerging as the Overall Champion in the School Category at the 10-day Annual Training Camp (ATC-223) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Wing held at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur.

The school’s cadets delivered an outstanding all-round performance across cultural, sports, and drill events, bringing laurels to both the institution and the region.

The closing ceremony of the camp was attended by Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, Commanding Officer of 1 HP Air Squadron NCC, Kullu, who presented the prestigious ‘Best ANO’ Award to Associate NCC Officer (ANO) Suman Pandit in recognition of her exemplary leadership, dedication, and contribution to NCC training.

DAV Mandi dominated several competitions during the camp, securing gold medals by finishing first in the drill competition, group dance, skit, and the 200-metre race. Adding another feather to the school’s cap, cadet Nishika was adjudged the ‘Best Anchor’ of the camp for her exceptional stage presentation skills.

The cadets also excelled in various other events, winning silver medals in the solo dance competition, Junior Division (JD) Kho-Kho, JD Boys’ 4×400-metre relay, and Junior Wing (JW) Girls’ 4×400-metre relay.

In athletics, the school further enhanced its medal tally by securing bronze medals in the 100-metre race and Sanvi’s 200-metre race, reflecting the team’s consistent performance across disciplines.

Following their triumphant return from the camp, the winning cadets met the school’s Principal, K.S. Guleria, and sought his blessings. Congratulating the cadets and ANO Suman Pandit, the Principal described the achievement as a historic milestone for the institution.

He said the success was a reflection of the cadets’ unwavering discipline, dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, coupled with effective guidance from their instructors. He expressed confidence that the remarkable accomplishment would motivate more students to join the NCC and embrace the values of discipline, leadership, and national service.

The school’s stellar performance at ATC-223 has further strengthened its reputation as one of the leading institutions promoting excellence in NCC activities, leadership training, sports, and co-curricular development in Himachal Pradesh.
