Scrutiny of Nominations Completed for All 15 Wards of Mandi Municipal Corporation; 53 Candidates in Fray.

The scrutiny process of nomination papers for councillor elections across all 15 wards of the Municipal Corporation Mandi was successfully completed on Monday, with all nominations found valid.

A total of 59 nomination papers were filed on April 29, 30, and May 2. Among these, six candidates had submitted two sets each. As per election rules, one set from each of these candidates was rejected, leaving 53 valid nominations in the fray.

For wards 1 to 13 under Sadar Mandi, the scrutiny was conducted at the DRDA Hall under the chairmanship of Assistant Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) . The process began at 10 a.m. in the presence of Observer . Officials stated that 52 nomination papers were submitted by 46 candidates in these wards. After rejecting duplicate sets, all 46 candidates were found eligible.

Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations may do so until 3 p.m. on May 6. Election symbols will be allotted thereafter to the final list of candidates.

Meanwhile, scrutiny for wards 14 (Behna) and 15 (Daunhadi) was held at the SDM Balh office under Assistant Election Officer and SDM Balh . All seven nominations received from these wards were also declared valid.
