Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Argentina’s Ambassador to Israel, Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish, at his office in Jerusalem and conveyed his best wishes to the Argentine national football team ahead of the FIFA World Cup final, scheduled to take place on Sunday.

During the meeting, Netanyahu expressed his hope for Argentina’s success in the championship match, highlighting the close and friendly ties between Israel and Argentina.

As part of the meeting, Ambassador Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish presented the Prime Minister with a recorded audio message from Argentine President Javier Milei, who thanked Netanyahu for his continued friendship and support.

In his message, President Milei said “You are my friend, always supporting us. I was happy to hear that you are rooting for Argentina because of me.”

Responding to the message, Prime Minister Netanyahu described Milei as a genuine friend of Israel and reaffirmed his support for both the Argentine leader and the country’s national football team.

“Javier, you are a friend. A true friend. You are a great friend. We support you, we support Argentina in so many ways, including tomorrow. Good luck!” Netanyahu said.

The exchange reflects the strengthening diplomatic relationship between Israel and Argentina under President Javier Milei’s administration.
