Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Mohan Lal Brakta, MLA from Rohru Assembly constituency, jointly attended the concluding ceremony of the Ujjain Mela held at Ranol village in the Runsar Valley of  Rohru assembly constituency in Shimla district on Sunday. Zila Parishad member Surender Raitka also attended the event.

The event brought together local residents, devotees and representatives of the area, providing an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural and religious traditions of Himachal Pradesh. During the occasion, both leaders sought the blessings of Devta Sahib Khantu Maharaj, paying obeisance at the revered shrine.

The leaders also interacted with local residents and listened to various issues and demands concerning the area. They reiterated their commitment to ensuring development in the Rohru Assembly constituency in accordance with the aspirations and requirements of the people.

Highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening road infrastructure, it was informed by the PWD Minister that various road-related development works are being undertaken in the Rohru area at an estimated cost of around Rs. 120 crore. The works include renewal, strengthening and upgradation of roads, with infrastructure projects progressing at a rapid pace.

The Minister said that improving connectivity and strengthening basic infrastructure remain key priorities for the region. He emphasised that development works would be pursued in a planned and time-bound manner to ensure that the benefits reach people at the earliest.

MLA Mohan Lal Brakta said that participating in the Ujjain Mela and seeking the blessings of Devta Sahib Khantu Maharaj was a spiritually enriching experience. He underlined the importance of preserving the region’s distinctive traditions, faith and cultural heritage while simultaneously advancing development.

He expressed the hope that the blessings of Devta Sahib Khantu Maharaj would continue to remain with the people of the area and that the Runsar Valley would continue to progress on the path of development, prosperity and well-being.

The joint presence of the PWD Minister and the Rohru MLA at the event also underscored the focus on strengthening coordination between public representatives and the local community, particularly on infrastructure and connectivity-related issues in the constituency.
