Three-Day Disaster Management and Adventure Camp Concludes in Shikari Hill in Mandi.

The three-day disaster management and adventure camp organized for 20 students from Mahavir Senior Public School, Sundarnagar, concluded today at Shikari Hill in Mandi district.

The event featured prominent guests, including senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Rajender Gupta, along with special guest Balveer Singh Rawat, chartered accountant Pankaj Jindal, and businessman YL Sabharwal. Gurudev Singh, chairman of DK Adventure, emphasized the importance of preparing for disasters and self-protection during emergencies.

Participants engaged in various activities such as zip lining, valley crossing, rappelling, bushcraft, stream walking, rope bridge building, rock climbing, and river crossing. They also learned about the roles of first responders and the significance of environmental conservation.

In his address, Gupta presented medals and certificates to the participants, highlighting the urgent need to protect the environment and the necessity of self-preparation for disaster response. Rawat remarked on the importance of advanced preparation in dealing with disasters and the essential role of youth in this endeavor.

Jindal stressed the need for respect towards Mother Earth, stating, “Country comes first; everything else follows,” and emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens to advance the nation.

The event was also attended by Parveen, director of Grathi Foundation; Gopal Bhardwaj, principal of SMGS; and several trainers and coordinators involved in the camp.
