A Patwari booked in a bribery case of Rs. 50000 by the HP State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Mandi.
DC Mandi suspended the accused revenue officer in a bribery case.

A revenue officer (Patwari) Rajesh Vimal of Patwar circle Kouhan under Dharampur tehsil of Mandi district was booked by the HP State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Mandi. A case has been registered in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorv Devgan today suspended the accused revenue officer after receiving investigation report from the Sub Divisional Magistrate Dharampur, who had conducted an inquiry in this case. In preliminary investigation of SDM, the accused revenue officer was found guilty.
According to the HP State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, a case has been registered against the accused revenue officer for demanding a bribe of Rs. 50000 from a rain disaster affected victim in Mandi.
Kulbhushan Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, HP State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau at Mandi said that a case was registered against the accused revenue officer on the statement of complainant Geeta Devi wife of late Jagdish native of Kouhan village under Dharampur tehsil for demanding the bribe of Rs 50000 for issuance of second installment of Relief fund to her. Her house was damaged during the last monsoon season.
ASP said that the complainant alleged that she had delivered Rs 50000 as first installment as a bribe in the last month to the accused officer and now he was demanding another amount of Rs. 50000 for issuing second installment of the compensation amount. In this regard she also had made a complaint on CM sankalp seva on January 22.
“Yesterday when an audio of conversation between complainant and accused went viral on social media, the vigilance team approached the complainant for the verification of facts. She recorded her statement to Investigation officer of Vigilance team against the Patwari. On this complaint the case was registered against accused Patwari Rajesh Vimal. The mobile phone of the complainant has been taken into possession in which the conversation is stated to be recorded by the complainant” the ASP said.
He said that further action is being taken as per law.
