Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi at his office in Israel, with both leaders agreeing to deepen economic and security cooperation between their countries.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of mutual cooperation, including economic partnerships and security ties. The leaders described the relationship between Israel and the Democratic Republic of the Congo as one that should continue to grow through closer engagement.

Welcoming President Tshisekedi, Netanyahu emphasized the importance of the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

“It is a pleasure welcoming our good friend, the President of the Republic of Congo, in Israel. It is a great friendship. We are strengthening it, and this visit will only help strengthen it even further. So welcome, Mr. President!” Netanyahu said.

The meeting comes as both countries seek to broaden their bilateral relationship and identify new opportunities for cooperation. The discussions are expected to contribute to closer diplomatic, economic and security links between Israel and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

President Tshisekedi’s visit highlights the two countries’ interest in maintaining high-level dialogue and developing stronger partnerships in areas of shared interest.
