New Delhi:

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the Sainik School Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh today, emphasizing the critical importance of nationalism and education in shaping India’s future. In his keynote address, Dhankhar cautioned against compromising on nationalism, calling it “the ultimate betrayal to the nation” and stressing that duty towards the country must always transcend personal and political interests.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Dhankhar described his time at Sainik School Chittorgarh as a pivotal moment in his life, stating, “While my biological birth was at Kithana village, my real birth took place at Sainik School Chittorgarh.” He lauded the role of education as a transformative force capable of addressing societal inequities and fostering personal growth.

Highlighting India’s growing prominence on the global stage, Dhankhar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and noted, “Today’s India is not the same as it was ten years ago,” referring to significant policy changes such as the abrogation of Article 370.

Dhankhar expressed his belief that the new Sainik School Gorakhpur would serve as a model for future educational institutions and contribute to the development of future generations. He also acknowledged Uttar Pradesh’s progress in governance and rule of law as a vital component of national development.

In a motivational address to the cadets, the Vice-President emphasized that “failure is the foundation of success,” drawing on the lessons learned from the Chandrayaan missions. During his visit, Dhankhar and his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, planted saplings in memory of their late mothers and inaugurated a shooting range at the school.

The inauguration event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister of State Kamlesh Paswan, Member of Lok Sabha Ravi Kishan Shukla, Minister of State for Secondary Education Gulab Devi, and other dignitaries.
