Supreme Court strikes down Electoral Bonds scheme; Cong welcome the verdict.

The Supreme Court today strike down the electoral bonds scheme introduced by the BJP as unconditional. The Congress party appreciated the verdict of Court.
A five judge bench of Court, Chief Justice of India, Dy Chandrachud, Justices BR Gavai, Manoj Mishra, JB Pardivala, Sanjiv Khanna delivered a unanimous verdict.
The bench delivered a verdict on batch of pleas which challenged the legal validity of the central government’s electoral bonds scheme, which allows for anonymous funding to political parties.
The bench observed that information about corporate contributors though electoral bonds must be disclosed as the donations by the companies are purely for quid pro quo purpose.
The Congress leaders welcomed the verdict of Supreme Court, who had termed this scheme of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as undemocratic move to harm the democracy.
They said that this decision of court will play a crucial role to protect the democracy. They alleged that the BJP had introduced this scheme to get benefited from it, which is in power in the center at the moment.
