BJP Slams Congress Government Over Price Hikes and Job Cuts During Festivals in Himachal.

Shimla:

Rakesh Jamwal, chief spokesperson for the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, has condemned the state’s Congress government for imposing increased taxes and exacerbating inflation during the festive season. Jamwal asserted that the government’s actions are unfairly burdening citizens, particularly during Hindu festivals.

He noted significant price increases for essential items, with mustard oil up by Rs. 25 and refined oil by Rs. 10, calling this a clear sign of the government’s anti-people policies. According to Jamwal, these price hikes undermine the festive spirit by adding financial strain on families.

In addition, he criticized the elimination of 51 technical positions at the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, branding it part of an anti-employee agenda. This move, he claimed, is disheartening for the state’s youth and technical workforce. While the government has promised the creation of 5 lakh jobs, he pointed out the dismissal of COVID-19 warriors and other unpopular decisions.

Jamwal further highlighted that electricity board employees and engineers have adopted a “work-to-rule” strategy, which could lead to significant disruptions in service. He warned that power outages occurring after hours would not be addressed until the next morning, reflecting the government’s inefficiency and insensitivity to public needs.
