Careers in the Indian Armed Forces: NCC Officer Inspires Students at Government College Kotli in Mandi.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, Associate NCC Officer of the Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron, served as the chief guest at a career guidance program held at Government College Kotli, focusing on “Careers in the Indian Armed Forces.”
Dr. Naveen Saini, the Acting Principal of the college, presented a memento to Dr. Chaman during the event, which was coordinated by Professor Manohar, head of the college’s Career Counseling Cell.
Addressing the students, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman emphasized the prestige and honor of pursuing a career in the Indian Armed Forces, outlining various paths available to qualified youth, including opportunities in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He stated, “A career in the Indian Armed Forces is suitable for dedicated individuals interested in discipline, leadership, and adventure.”
The presentation highlighted various entry routes, including the National Defense Academy (NDA), Combined Defense Services (CDS), and the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). Dr. Chaman elaborated on the Technical Entry Scheme for 10+2 Science students and the NCC Special Entry, which benefits those holding an NCC ‘C’ certificate.
He encouraged students to consider diverse roles, from combat positions in the Infantry and Armored Corps to technical and medical services. The Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force was particularly emphasized, with Dr. Chaman explaining the potential for careers as pilots and in various logistical roles.
A documentary showcasing opportunities within the Indian Air Force was screened, followed by an interactive session where students engaged with Flying Officer Dr. Chaman to learn more about the NCC’s role in nation-building.
The event was well-attended, with participation from faculty members, non-teaching staff, and enthusiastic students eager to explore careers in the armed forces.
