PM Modi and Xi Jinping Discuss Bilateral Relations on Sidelines of BRICS Summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Chinese President Xi Jinping today during the 16th BRICS Summit, focusing on recent agreements aimed at disengagement and resolution of border issues stemming from 2020.
Modi emphasized the importance of managing differences to maintain peace along the India-China border. Both leaders agreed to convene their Special Representatives soon to oversee peace efforts and explore mutually acceptable solutions to boundary disputes. They also highlighted the necessity of utilizing dialogue mechanisms involving Foreign Ministers to stabilize and enhance bilateral relations.
Affirming the significance of strong ties between the world’s two largest nations, Modi and Xi recognized that stable relations would foster regional and global peace, contributing to a multi-polar Asia and world. They stressed the importance of strategic communication and cooperation to tackle developmental challenges facing both countries.
