District Hockey Association Celebrates former Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s Birthday by Distributing Tracksuits to 40 Players in Mandi.

The District Hockey Association celebrated the birthday of former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, Anurag Thakur, by distributing tracksuits to 40 players in Mandi district today. This initiative took place in conjunction with a gathering of players, marking a gesture of appreciation for Thakur’s longstanding support for sports.

Raja Singh Malhotra, President of the District Hockey Association, emphasized Thakur’s significant contributions to promoting sports and player welfare. “We decided to celebrate his birthday with the players and provide them with essential gear,” Malhotra stated, expressing hopes for continued support from Thakur in the future.

Players and coaches expressed their gratitude, with Mandi District Hockey Team captain Sonia noting that many players lacked tracksuits before this initiative. “Now, we can benefit from these during practice,” she remarked.

Coaches Naresh Kumar and Kamal Kishore also thanked Malhotra for this generous gesture, extending their birthday wishes to Anurag Thakur.
