Chief Minister Inaugurates Trauma Centre Level-II at Tanda Medical College in Kangra.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the Trauma Centre Level-II at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda in Kangra district today, marking a significant enhancement in healthcare facilities in the region. The centre, developed at a cost of Rs. 10.27 crore, aims to improve emergency medical services for the community.
During the inauguration, CM Sukhu highlighted that Rs. 6 crore has been allocated for machinery and equipment, Rs. 1.50 crore for construction, and Rs. 2.77 crore for allied services. The centre will employ 95 staff members across various categories, including a neurosurgeon, anesthetists, orthopedic surgeons, and nurses, with 72 posts already filled.
In a subsequent review meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing medical facilities statewide. He stated that Tanda Medical College, which caters to nearly half of the state’s healthcare needs with 5.89 lakh annual visits, will be upgraded with advanced technology, including plans for a high-end laboratory and modern imaging services.
Sukhu noted the positive outcomes of recent reforms at the college, which include new cardiology procedures and future installations of PET scan machines and robotic surgery capabilities. He reassured attendees of the government’s dedication to fulfilling the medical community’s requests for improved resources and staffing.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar and AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma, who praised the Chief Minister’s efforts in elevating healthcare services in the state.
