Himachal Pradesh Law and Order in Shambles, Claims BJP Spokesperson Ajay Rana.

Shimla:

Ajay Rana, the state spokesperson of the BJP, has criticized the current state of law and order in Himachal Pradesh, calling it completely deteriorated. He accused the state government of being more focused on internal conflicts and disputes rather than maintaining law and order. Rana stated that top officials within the government are engaged in personal power struggles, which have led to a breakdown in governance.

Highlighting the recent attack on former MLA Bambar Thakur in Bilaspur, Rana condemned the incident, stating that while the attack was reprehensible, the government’s response showed its inefficiency. He questioned the police’s failure to act despite receiving information about the shooters arriving in a Bolero vehicle. Rana noted that the police failed to set up roadblocks on major highways like Shimla, Chandigarh, Mandi, and Hamirpur, allowing the perpetrators to escape.

Rana further pointed out the lack of law enforcement after the incident, referring to a vehicle found on the four-lane highway with weapons inside, which signified the collapse of law enforcement in the state. He also criticized the delay in obtaining phone records from telecom towers near Thakur’s wife’s house, which could have potentially led to the identification of the attackers.

He also raised concerns over the rising activities of pro-Khalistan supporters in the state, including incidents of harassment of women, violence at petrol stations, and public display of weapons such as knives and swords. Rana blamed the government for focusing more on internal political battles, rather than addressing the law and order issues.

Rana concluded by accusing the Sukhu government of losing its moral ground to govern, with law enforcement and the bureaucracy failing to uphold the rule of law, leaving the state’s law and order in disarray.
