Shimla:
Vijay Pal Singh, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Intellectual Cell, lauded the 2025-26 Himachal Budget presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He emphasized that the budget caters to all sections of society, including farmers, orchardists, employees, unemployed youth, and Panchayati Raj institutions, with a special focus on strengthening the rural economy of the state. Singh also expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for assigning a Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School to Seraj in Mandi district.
In a separate statement, Vijay Kanav, Spokesperson for the District Congress Committee of Mandi, hailed the budget as a welfare-oriented and development-driven document. He mentioned that Mandi district has been given special priority, with concrete steps being taken to make it a model for development. Kanav stressed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhu, the state aims to make Himachal Pradesh a “Green and Natural State,” with Mandi at the center of this initiative. The budget includes plans for dairy development, milk chilling centers, and a 20,000-liter capacity milk plant, all designed to boost rural employment and farmers’ incomes.
Moreover, the budget envisions making Mandi a tourism hub, with initiatives such as a Green Tourism Policy, Home Stay Scheme, and the expansion of the ropeway network. New projects worth Rs. 2400 crore for developing tourism destinations, including wellness centers and ice skating rinks, are also proposed.
“The Mandi District Congress will launch a public outreach campaign to ensure the benefits of this budget reach every household” said Kanav.
