Former MLA Ravi Thakur Thanks Organisation for Mega Free Medical Camp in Lahaul’s Keylong.
Shimla:
A large-scale free medical camp held in Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, has drawn appreciation from former MLA and senior BJP leader Ravi Thakur. Organised by Sarv Kalyankari Sanstha, the camp provided medical services to approximately 1,500 people, offering both consultations and free medicines to residents of this remote tribal district.
Ravi Thakur extended heartfelt thanks to the organisation and its president, Abhishek Rana, for taking the initiative to bring much-needed healthcare services to the region. He highlighted the significance of such camps in areas like Lahaul, where access to specialist healthcare is limited due to tough terrain and weather conditions.
Thakur also acknowledged and thanked the team of specialist doctors who traveled from various parts of the country to serve the people of Lahaul selflessly. “By dedicating their valuable time and expertise, these doctors have served the tribal population with true commitment,” he stated. He further said that, just like his late father Nihal Chand Thakur and mother Lata Thakur, who dedicated their lives to serving the people of Lahaul, he remains fully committed to the welfare of the region’s residents.
Specialist Doctors Participating in the Camp:
- Dr. Raj Bahadur – Orthopaedic Specialist
- Dr. Jeet Ram – Cardiologist
- Dr. Gurvinder Pal Thami – Dermatologist
- Dr. Meenakshi – Gynaecologist
- Dr. Ram Ji – ENT Specialist
- Dr. Naveen Sankhyan – Paediatrician
- Dr. Rajan Baheda, Dr. Divya Chauhan, and Dr. Shweta Jha – Eye Specialists
The camp addressed a wide range of health issues, from bone and joint disorders to heart conditions, skin diseases, ENT issues, women’s health, paediatrics, and vision care. Locals, who often have to travel long distances for specialist consultations, expressed gratitude for the quality care received close to home.
Ravi Thakur concluded by encouraging more such initiatives in the future and reaffirmed his dedication to the people of Lahaul. He expressed hope that the participating doctors would continue to offer their support in future camps as well.
