Renowned social worker and philanthropist Dharmender Rana made a generous donation to the Mandi Press Club on Wednesday by gifting a Smart TV, enhancing the club’s infrastructure and providing members with a modern medium to stay informed and entertained.

Adding to the contribution, local cable operator Sharad Malhotra offered free cable connection, ensuring that journalists at the club have direct access to national and international news broadcasts, along with entertainment channels.

A special event was organized at the Press Club to mark the occasion. It was graced by Press Club President Subhash Thakur, DPRO Mandi Hemant Kumar and attended by a large number of journalists and dignitaries.

Subhash Thakur, President of the Press Club, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dharmender Rana, highlighting his deep commitment to public welfare. “Rana is a truly dedicated social worker who has carried out numerous initiatives to support underprivileged communities in Mandi. His contribution today further reflects his commitment to the betterment of society,” said Thakur.

He also spoke of Rana’s key role in organizing the annual Holi Festival at Seri Manch, which has grown to attain national recognition. “Every year, thousands gather to celebrate the cultural richness of the region through this festival, largely thanks to Rana’s efforts,” he added.

Notably, Dharmender Rana has donated blood 110 times, setting an inspiring example of selfless service. He is known for always stepping forward to support those in need, making him one of the most respected figures in the community.

The event saw the presence of several prominent members of the press community, including: Hansraj Saini (Secretary), Surender Sharma (Joint Secretary), Bhagat Singh Guleria (Treasurer), Murari Sharma (Former President), Rajneesh Himalayan (Chief Advisor), Vinod Rana (Vice President),  Saroj Thakur (Vice President) , senior journalists Dipender Manta, Purushottam Sharma, Aman Agnihotri, Rakesh Sharma (Press Secretary), Viplav Saklani (Press Secretary), members Dharmveer, Diksha Thakur, Ajay Sehgal, and K.P. Panjla.

Their collective presence reflected the appreciation and respect held for Dharmender Rana’s contributions to both journalism and the broader society.
